Isreali Artist Lana Bengis Rubinstein
Creating art for me is a process of revelation and challenge which begins with taking the conceptual and making it speak in a material language of colour and form.  My art is a voyage of discovery through which I discover the world and myself.  My inspiration draws from G-d's wondrous world as well as my rich Jewish heritage.

Lana Bengis Rubinstein Oil Painting: Aleph-Beth Tree of Life
$10,000.00
1.2 m x 1 m (122 cm x 100 cm); 48" x 40"; framed; Mixed media oil painting on canvas. Mystical Kabbalistic Jewish tradition teaches that the physical and spiritual world was created through the utterances of the Hebrew letters and their combinations. According to Rabbi Dov Ber, the Maggid of Mezritch, the 22 sacred letters are profound, primal, spiritual forces...When G-d combined them into words, phrases and commands, they brought about creation, translating His will into reality. In the same way that the letters are the source of all things, a tree in the physical world is the source of life. This painting explores the life forces of the Hebrew letters and the life-giving forces of the tree (and all of nature - man, animal, plants) in the physical world.

Lana Bengis Rubinstein Mixed Media Oil Painting: Ancient Prayers at the Wall
$6,000.00
90 cm x 70 cm; 35 ½" x 27 ½"; Mixed Media (modeling clay, paper, pencil, charcoal) and oil on canvas; Unframed; Shipping, handling and insurance included. The "Kotel," or Western Wall, is one of the most powerful symbols of not only Jewish history, but of Jewish spiritual aspirations as a nation. People visit the Wall from all parts of the world to pour their hearts out in prayer. I've tried to express a sense of the prayers and the "Wall" almost merging, the stones themselves much more than stones. Not only are the stones of the Wall witness to countless personal prayers and yearnings, they are an eternal testimony and symbol of the Jewish soul - its indomitable will and tempestuous history, replete with tragedy, joy, spiritual devastation and heroism.

Lana Bengis Rubinstein Oil Painting: The Splitting of the Red Sea
$10,000.00
90cm x 80cm; 35 ½" x 31 ½"; Framed; Oil painting on canvas; shipping, handling and insurance are included. This painting attempts to synthesize the ideas of birth with the creation of the Jewish nation, as found in the Red Sea miracle. The Midrash explains how the tribes passed through "tunnels" while surrounded on all sides by water in order to become a nation. So, too, do we pass through the watery birth canal in order to experience life. The blue center of the Red Sea recalls the womb and birth tunnel.
